This is one of the first ledges on the Gold
Bar Rim trail. Here you can see the white scratches from vehicles which
have dragged various parts along the slick rock.

The black marks are from tires clawing their
way back up the incline. As usual the photos don't do justice to the steepness
and height of the ledge. |

This is the ridge which borders Moab Hwy.
191 runs parallel to the ridge.

area is susceptible to flash floods and high water levels.
